How Tarquinns uses your information

This notice explains what happens to the information supplied through the Tarquinns waiting-list and pre-launch research forms.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Who is responsible for your information

Tarquinns is a pre-launch project operated by Michael Potts, who is the data controller for information collected through this website.

For questions, requests or objections concerning your information, email mike@tarquinns.co.uk.

Information we collect

Depending on the pathway you choose, the form may collect:

  • Your name, email address, approximate location and optional contact details.
  • Your business or trading name, role, broad expertise and preferred service reach.
  • Your answers about business needs, finding work, potential obstacles, proposed benefits and pricing.
  • Your separate choices about occasional Tarquinns updates and an optional research conversation.
  • Limited technical information recorded by the hosting provider for security and service operation, such as an IP address, browser type and request time.

Please do not include sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else in the free-text answers.

How and why we use it

We use submitted information to:

  • Add you to the appropriate pre-launch waiting list and provide access to the relevant Toolkit.
  • Understand demand, priorities, concerns and pricing expectations.
  • Develop and assess the proposed Tarquinns service.
  • Contact you about a short research conversation only when you select that option.
  • Send occasional research, development and launch updates only when you select the separate updates option.
  • Protect the forms and website against spam, misuse and technical problems.

Our lawful bases

Waiting-list administration, product research, service development and website security are carried out for our legitimate interests in researching, assessing and protecting the proposed service. We consider the limited information requested proportionate to those purposes.

Optional update emails and optional research-conversation contact are based on the clear, separate choices you make in the form. You may withdraw either choice at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing a choice does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use.

Your right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Your right to object to direct marketing is absolute, and we will stop marketing contact when you ask.

Where information is stored and who receives it

Each valid response is stored in a private website database. A notification copy is sent to Michael Potts at the Tarquinns email address. We use service providers for website hosting, database operation and authenticated email delivery. They process information only to provide those services.

We do not sell submitted information. We will disclose information only where required by law, to protect legal rights or security, or to professional advisers working under confidentiality where necessary.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, we expect appropriate contractual or legal safeguards to be used as required by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

Raw waiting-list and research records will normally be deleted or anonymised within 24 months of collection, or sooner if the research is no longer required. If you request occasional updates, the necessary contact and consent record may be retained until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.

When somebody opts out of marketing, we may retain the minimum information needed on a suppression record so that the opt-out continues to be respected.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete information or restrict how it is used.
  • Consider an objection to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Provide information in a portable format where the right applies.
  • Stop update emails or research-conversation contact and record your withdrawal.

Email mike@tarquinns.co.uk to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through ico.org.uk.

Cookies and tracking

This launch version does not use analytics, advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels or behavioural profiling. The Tarquinns forms do not place a cookie on your device.

The hosting provider may maintain standard server and security logs needed to operate and protect the website. If optional analytics or other non-essential technologies are added later, this notice and the site’s consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.

Security and changes to this notice

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect submissions, including encrypted website connections, server-side validation, restricted configuration files and access-controlled database management. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this notice as the research or proposed service develops. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
